Mission
We elevate the global marine industry through innovative digital solutions and smart seamless electrification, enabling empowering efficient and sustainable operations of maritime businesses.
The people behind the Helios Marine and Helios Yachts brands are the brothers Dragomir and Dimitar Enchevi. Dragomir is the CEO and the man who has been navigating the project since the very beginning. Born in Burgas, at the Black Sea coast, both brothers have taken different paths in life but share a common passion for the sea and renewable technology.
Dragomir is a sailor, traveler and entrepreneur with experience in the automotive and digital sectors, while Dimitar is following a career in investments and clean energy.
The brothers co-founded Helios Marine in 2021 – however, the concept of electric watercraft first emerged during one of their annual survival hikes in Strandzha Mountain, Bulgaria back in 2014. Each summer, they follow a ritual of venturing into the mountains with just their backpacks, relying solely on nature’s resources. During one of these trips, while discussing ideas related to Dimitar’s field of work, the idea of marine electric motors surfaced. Researching existing green yacht alternatives, they realized that the options were limited and prohibitively expensive. This fueled their determination to make electric boats accessible and affordable, leading to the founding of Helios in 2021.
By mid-2023, the founders had achieved significant milestones, including releasing two electric boat prototypes, developing a proprietary marine battery, and designing a propulsion kit that integrates software and hardware to convert traditional boats into eco-friendly vessels.
Since then, Helios has welcomed new members to its team and established its own production facility. The Engineering and Technology teams are based in Burgas on the Black Sea coast, while the Commercial team operates from Sofia, Bulgaria’s vibrant capital.
Dragomir emphasizes innovation, and incorporates forward-thinking technology into the company’s product portfolio. Helios adopted the safer, eco-friendlier LFP battery in its manufacturing process in favor of the more common NMC type used in automotive applications.
Another Helios development is a waterproof version of their battery and an IoT module that allows users to remotely control and configure their boats. The vision for the future includes enabling auto-docking capabilities.
Helios has the ambition to expand globally, making electric boating a standard across urban waterways, canals, rivers, and lakes. Electric boating is the future, and to drive this change, we want to provide an alternative that prioritizes sustainability, silent operation, and affordability. Our goal is to make electric boating accessible to all.
Picture this: a world where silent electric boats are the norm. That’s the future we’re building: a sustainable ecosystem where adventurous boaters sail the oceans in harmony with marine life.

Helios boats are made to order. You can inquire about yours here.
Helios boats are designed and made in the EU. Our batteries are assembled in the EU (using Tier 1 Chinese cells). Our motors are designed and manufactured in the EU.
Helios boats with solar panels charge automatically when the sun is available. All boats also include an industry-standard charging port (CCS1), allowing you to charge in all marinas and docks with electricity.
It varies from boat to boat, and it depends on charging infrastructure. The 240V available in most marinas will charge our boats overnight in most cases.
All our boats are using a “safe-to-touch” 48dc electrical architecture. Our battery packs and electrical systems are watertight, heavily reinforced and constantly monitored.
Other than standard cleaning and anti-fouling, Helios boats are practically maintenance-free.
We are firm believers that the chemistry in today’s LiFePo4 battery packs, generally intended to be used for Solar Storage, is the way forward for the marine industry. Being one of the safest battery technologies available today, it showcases perfect charge and discharge properties. A concern for reaching high temperature is highly unlikely as stability of the voltage is attained regardless of the SOC of the pack.
Our JAM (Just Add Module) plug-and-play allows you to expand the capacity and/or voltage so you have the flexibility to create and fit for your needs. Even more than that, our state-of-the-art software lets you configure your batteries bringing you the option for a bespoke solution.
We’ve seen LiFePo4 overcome a previous obstacle as well – the small energy density compared to other options which discarded the use of it for E-mobility. The density of the LiFePo4 today is already on par with other types of Li-Ion batteries keeping the advantages that give it edge – Safety and really SOL. A solid testimony being that the biggest automotive companies have started to integrate the strategy and create their EVs with LiFePo4.
